Free tier is incredible. Then you hit one limit and suddenly you're looking at $800/mo. They know exactly what they're doing. The free tier is the hook, the paid tiers are the trap. Rant over.
What's actually worth paying for in 2026?
After cutting our SaaS stack from 40 tools to 12, here's what survived: Linear, Figma, Slack, 1Password, Vercel, Notion, Stripe, Loom, Superhuman, Intercom, Mixpanel, and Rippling. Everything else was nice-to-have. What's on your "actually worth it" list?
Hot take: Vercel is overpriced for what it does
I know, I know. DX is amazing. But $20/mo per seat for a team of 5 is $100/mo just to deploy. Railway and Render do 90% of what Vercel does for a fraction of the cost. Fight me.
